About Me
I was originally born in Everett, Washington, with most of my family in the surrounding areas. I then moved to Nampa, Idaho in the early 2000's, but then officially called Wyoming my home in 2006. After graduating from Green River High School in 2015, I continued to further my education at Western Wyoming Community College, where I received two associate degrees; one in science for pre-vet medicine and one in English for journalism. After taking a semester off, I was officially accepted into Colorado State University for Fall 2018, where I originally entered into the Creative Writing program. However, after the first semester I decided to transfer into the English Education program, where I feel the most at home.
I currently have two dogs, Koda and Kitana, and two bearded dragons named Astrid and Saphira. I love reading, writing, swimming and traveling. Sometimes when I'm home in the summer I'll go horse back riding with my mom or going out to the lake with my friends and family. I'm an active roller coaster connoisseur and adore when history and literature mix together.
Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of teaching centers on the notion that students walk into the classroom with their own individual identity. Each student has their own thoughts, beliefs and backgrounds they come from, and it is my job as a teacher to enhance and encourage them to become free thinkers and make connections to things on their own accord. I also extend this philosophy into making sure that students continue to learn how to express their identity and thought process within a safe environment while also being conscious of the thoughts and beliefs of others.
