First day back at CSU. Honestly I thought I would be a little more excited but considering how the brisk wind cut straight through my sweatshirt and left me frozen walking from one building to the next, I would have much rather stayed wrapped in my blankets.
Overall though, school wasn’t that hard; it’s syllabus week. Professors are explaining the rules and expectations of the class as well as what we are doing for the semester ahead. It’s amusing in a way because I remember freshman me being so intimidated by the whole experience, because it was such a different thing then what we had compared to high school. It’s one of the things I wish our teachers got us more used to.
I think that’s one thing about me wanting to become the next generation of teachers. Just like how I’ve always wanted to do better than my parents, I always want to do better than my teachers as well. While I have learned so much good from them, I also want to improve on the mistakes that they made when teaching me and the rest of my classmates.
The first day back is always the worst part of every break. While I haven’t been gone that long, it takes at least a week to honestly get back into the swing of things. I guess maybe that’s why we always have syllabus week. Maybe the professors need it too.
Regardless, I’d rather be back here in class than dealing with all the shoveling back in Wyoming. Two and a half more years.
